Campus Rosters

A confidential campus roster is available for each campus and lists every student for whom an assessment record was submitted.

This page contains descriptions of the contents of the campus rosters for all state-mandated assessments. The following information is provided on all campus rosters:

  • Identification Information

    The top of the report contains identification information for the district and campus. The report date, date of testing, and specific assessments included on the report are also indicated.

  • Legend

    A list of abbreviations and symbols are defined in the legend area and in the footnotes.

  • Student Information

    Students are listed alphabetically by last name. Students’ first names and TSDS IDs are also listed.

Students who took the Spanish version of STAAR will be provided on a separate roster from students who took the English version.

In addition to the information described above for all campus rosters, STAAR and STAAR Alternate 2 campus rosters include the following information for each assessment:

  • Student Information

    In addition to the student’s name and TSDS ID, this section provides the following information:

    • Grade

      The student’s enrolled grade at the time of the assessment is indicated.

    • Info

      For STAAR, this area indicates if the student took a specific version of the assessment. Version information is indicated by one or two characters, and the description of the characters is indicated in the legend.

  • Scale Score

    The scale score the student earned is shown.

  • Performance Level

    An indication of whether the student achieved each performance level is indicated as follows:

  • Approaches Grade Level

    • If the student achieved Approaches Grade Level, “YES” is shown.

    • If the student achieved Approaches Grade Level, “YES” is shown.

    • If the student did not achieve Approaches Grade Level, “NO” is shown.

    • If the student’s test was assigned a score code other than “Score,” “---” is shown.

  • Meets Grade Level

    • If the student achieved Meets Grade Level, “YES” is shown.

    • If the student did not achieve Meets Grade Level, “NO” is shown.

    • If the student’s test was assigned a score code other than “Score,” “---” is shown.

  • Masters Grade Level

    • If the student achieved Masters Grade Level, “YES” is shown.

    • If the student did not achieve Masters Grade Level, “NO” is shown.

    • If the student’s test was assigned a score code other than “Score,” “---” is shown.

  • Level II: Satisfactory Academic Performance

    • If the student achieved Level II: Satisfactory Academic Performance, “YES” is shown.

    • If the student did not achieve Level II: Satisfactory Academic Performance, “NO” is shown.

    • If the student’s test was assigned a score code other than “Score,” “---” is shown.

  • Level III: Accomplished Academic Performance

    • If the student achieved Level III: Accomplished Academic Performance, “YES” is shown.

    • If the student did not achieve Level III: Accomplished Academic Performance, “NO” is shown.

    • If the student’s test was assigned a score code other than “Score,” “---” is shown.

  • Progress Measure

For STAAR, the progress measure the student achieved is shown. Students can achieve Limited, Expected, or Accelerated progress.

  • Results for Each Reporting Category

This section of the report lists the reporting category, the total number of points possible in each reporting category, and the points the student earned in each category.

A report message might appear in place of reporting category–level data. Refer to the STAAR Report Messages and STAAR Alternate 2 Report Messages information on the Student Report Cards page.

  • Summary Information

    At the bottom of each campus roster, summary information is listed and includes the following:

    • Total Students Listed

      The total number of students included on the report is indicated.

    • Total Students Tested

      The total number of students who took this assessment is indicated.

    • Average Scale Score

      This number indicates the average scale score for the total number of students tested.

    • Number for Performance Level

      This number indicates the total number of “YES” results for each performance level indicated on the report.

    • Percent for Performance Level

      This number indicates the percentage of “YES” results for each performance level indicated on the report.

    • Average Reporting-Category Results

      For STAAR, the average number and the percentage of points earned are indicated for each reporting category.

NOTE: There are two additional campus rosters for STAAR:

  • The Students Not Achieving Approaches Grade Level campus roster lists each student for whom an assessment record was submitted but who did not achieve a passing score.

  • The All Out-of-School Examinees campus roster lists each out-of-school examinee for whom an assessment record was submitted.

 

In addition to the information described above for all campus rosters, TELPAS and TELPAS Alternate campus rosters include the following information for each grade:

  • Student Information

    For TELPAS, this area indicates if the student took a specific version of the assessment. Version information is indicated by one or two characters, and the description of the characters is indicated in the footnotes.

  • Years in U.S. Schools

    The number of years the student has been enrolled in schools in the U.S. as submitted by the student’s school district is indicated.

  • Language Domain Information

    For each of the four language domains—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—the following information is provided.

    • Reporting Category

      The total number of points possible and the points the student earned are shown for each reporting category in each domain.

    • Scale Score

      The scale score the student earned is shown for each domain.

    • Proficiency Rating

      Abbreviated information for the proficiency level the student achieved in the current and previous year is indicated for each domain. The proficiency levels are color coded to indicate how the proficiency level changed. Refer to the legend for descriptions of the codes and colors.

NOTE: For holistically rated assessments, reporting categories and scale scores are not reported.

  • Composite Rating

    Abbreviated information for the overall composite rating the student achieved in the current and previous year is indicated. The composite ratings are color coded to indicate how the rating changed. Refer to the legend for descriptions of the codes and colors.
