STAAR
Spring 2025 Administration
For the spring 2025 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) administration, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has scheduled a two-week testing window for each content-area grouping: mathematics, reading language arts (RLA), and science and social studies. For paper administrations of STAAR, district personnel should plan to conduct testing during the first one and a half weeks of the testing window and reserve the last two to three days for ensuring that all student responses are submitted in the Data Entry Interface (DEI). All assessments must be completed and processed in the system and all students must be accounted for in the system by 11:59 p.m. (CT) on the last day of the two-week window for each content-area grouping. For example, all RLA data must be entered before the close of the RLA testing window. The Calendar of Events lists specific dates for these activities within each two-week testing window.
December 2024 and June 2025 Administrations
TEA has scheduled a two-week testing window for both the December 2024 and June 2025 STAAR administrations. For paper administrations of STAAR, district personnel should plan to conduct testing during the first one and a half weeks of the testing window and reserve the last two to three days for ensuring that all student responses are submitted in DEI. All assessments must be completed and processed in the system and all students must be accounted for in the system by 11:59 p.m. (CT) on the last day of each testing window.
STAAR Alternate 2
For STAAR Alternate 2, TEA has scheduled a two-week preview window prior to the five-week testing window. District personnel may also allow educators a preview period at any time during the testing window as long as testing has not begun for that particular student. District personnel should plan to conduct testing during the first four weeks of the testing window and should reserve the last week for ensuring that all student responses are submitted in DEI. All assessments must be completed and processed in the system and all students must be accounted for in the system by 11:59 p.m. (CT) on April 18.
TELPAS
For the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) administration, TEA has scheduled a six-week testing window. District personnel should plan to conduct testing during the first five weeks of the testing window and should reserve the last week to review and verify the data in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) to ensure all student data is included and correct. All assessments must be completed and processed in the system and all students must be accounted for in the system by 11:59 p.m. (CT) on March 28.
TELPAS Alternate
For TELPAS Alternate, TEA has scheduled a six-week testing window. District personnel should plan to conduct testing during the first five weeks of the testing window and reserve the last week for ensuring that all Observable Behavior ratings are submitted in DEI. All assessments must be completed and processed in the system and all students must be accounted for in the system by 11:59 p.m. (CT) on March 28.
