How to Access Class (Roster) Performance on a Particular Test
The Roster Performance on Test report lists students in a class (roster) with their performance.
You can view a list of rosters of students that took a particular test, and you can also view the test results for a particular class.
NOTE: Beginning with the 2025–26 school year, STAAR Interim and STAAR elementary and middle school science assessments and high school Biology assessment no longer include reporting categories. Instead, science content is grouped into strands, and due to the small number of items included for each science strand, no reporting data is provided at the strand level.
Scale score and performance level for elementary and middle school science will be updated after standard setting and available in July 2026.
The Performance by Roster tab (Figure 7) displays test results for each roster. To access this tab, follow the instructions for your user role.
Teachers and campus-level users:
Generate a dashboard and click a program name.
Click an assessment title in the table of assessments. Either the My Students’ Performance on Test or the Campus Performance on Test report appears, depending on your role. It is open to the Performance by Roster tab.
District-level users can view all rosters in a campus. To do so, follow these instructions:
Generate a dashboard and click a program name.
Click an assessment title in the table of assessments. A page of district test results appears, listing campuses within the district.
Click a campus name. The Campus Performance on Test report appears; open to the Performance by Roster tab.
The report shown in Figure 7 displays a list of rosters and each class’s performance. The first few rows also show aggregate performance data for the district, campus, and all of a teacher’s students.
How to See Which Rosters Performed Well on This Assessment
To see which rosters performed best on the test, do either of these things (refer to Figure 8):
Click the score column header to sort by score and look for rosters with high average scores.
Look at the bars in the performance distribution column.
How to See Which Rosters Had the Highest Test Completion Rates
To see which rosters had the highest test completion rate, click the Test Completion Rate column header to sort the column (refer to Figure 8).
NOTE: Elements in Table 2 are annotated in Figure 8.

How to See How Well Rosters Performed in Each Area on the Test
For tests with reporting category sections, you can compare your students’ performance in each area of the test. To access results by Reporting Category, click each vertical section bar to expand or collapse it. In this example (Figure 9), you can access average score and a performance distribution bar for each roster under the reporting category.
NOTE: Interim tests cover multiple reporting categories. Elements in Table 3 are annotated in Figure 9.

How to Access Test Results for an Individual Roster
Prior sections explained how to access test results for all your rosters. To access results for one specific roster, click the name of a roster that appears in the first column of the report. The class results listed by student appear (refer to Figure 10).
How to See How Well Students in Your Roster Performed in Each Area of the Test
You can compare the performance of your students in each area of the test using the reporting category sections, as shown in Figure 11. Click the vertical section bar to expand each Reporting Category section.
NOTE: Beginning in the 25–26 school year, Science will no longer include reporting categories/strands. Items will be displayed under the Total Items accordion.
