Testing Calendar

2021–2022

For the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®), the first week of testing is the main administration week for both paper and online. The testing calendar for online testing will be extended for a total of two weeks for December, May, and June administrations.

By registering to test STAAR online, district officials are choosing more flexibility associated with online testing. This flexibility allows officials to schedule STAAR mathematics, reading, science, and social studies tests on any school day during the optional, extended, online testing window (week 2). Starting with the 2021–2022 school year, district officials may now request to administer a STAAR assessment on the Monday of the main administration week for both paper and online (week 1) if administering the assessment on another instructional day would result in a significant administrative burden due to specific local conditions. District officials who choose to participate in the optional, extended, online testing window (week 2) may continue to schedule tests on Monday during the extension without a request.

Due to test security issues, tests with writing components do not have the same flexibility. STAAR English I and English II are NOT included in the two-week online testing window extension and have been assigned designated days within the main administration week (week 1). District officials who have conflicts and need to adjust the scheduled administration of STAAR English I or English II must notify TEA's Student Assessment Division by completing a Test Date Change Notice. A change in the administration date for either of these tests will apply to all students on a campus.

For STAAR Alternate 2, TEA will offer a two-week preview only window and a five-week test administration window. However, district may also preview the test during the administration window.

For the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS), TEA will offer a six-week test administration window.

For TELPAS Alternate, TEA will offer a six-week test administration window.
